RM Gibson Grant - Opens Monday, 6th April

The RM Gibson Program of the AAG Research Trust supports early‑career researchers and practitioners working across the multidisciplinary field of ageing.

Established in honour of Dr Richard (Dick) Maxwell Gibson, a foundational figure in Australian gerontology and former AAG National President, the program invests in the next generation of ageing thought leaders.

RM Gibson grants provide seed funding up to $10,000 for innovative research projects that aspire to improve the experience of ageing. Open to AAG members in the early stages of their careers, the grants are designed to support professional development and help build a strong grant track record.

How to apply and supporting documents available now on the RM Gibson webpage.

Aged Care Provider Workforce Survey ends 27th March

The 2026 Aged Care Provider Workforce Survey helps the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to better understand the aged care workforce and make informed policy decisions.

A sample of providers was invited by HealthConsult to participate, including:

  • Residential Aged Care
  • Support at Home
  • Commonwealth Home Support Program.

If you received an emailed invitation, please complete the survey by 27 March.

All multi-purpose services and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care services were invited to participate.

Get Connected with the AAG Student & Early Career Group

The AAG Student & Early Career Group (SECG) is a dynamic community for students and early career professionals shaping the future of ageing research, policy and practice. Making up around a quarter of AAG’s membership, the SECG brings together people from across disciplines to learn, connect and lead.

Through the SECG, members build meaningful networks, access professional development and mentoring, apply for members‑only awards and grants, and gain leadership experience within the AAG.

Whether you’re studying, starting, or growing your career, the SECG is your gateway to connection, opportunity and impact in ageing.

We’re pleased to share recent leadership updates within the AAG National SECG:

  • Conference Planning Working Group Lead: Dr Alice Pashley, stepping into the role from Dr Danielle Cave

  • Communications and Awards Working Group Lead: Dr Kristina Chelberg, taking over from Dr Trica King

If you are a student, early career researcher or professional, get in touch with your local division and see how you can be involved today.
