Rachael Wass CEO Rachael Wass is the CEO of Meaningful Ageing Australia. MAA is the peak body for spiritual care and ageing, an innovative membership-based organisation dedicated to the social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of older people. MAA members represent a wide range of world views and embrace inclusivity with the key aims of enabling meaning, purpose and connectiveness for all older Australians.
Rachael's most important role was a primary carer of an elderly parent for the past 15yrs and an active volunteer in palliative care. Holding a Master of Ageing and a Master of Commerce, with an invited Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A Member of National Aged Care Alliance - Strategic Workgroups: First Nations / Aged Care Workforce & Consumer Voice; a Member of Federal Dept Health & Ageing aged care Sector Reference Group; Panel member, ACQC’s Consumers and Families Panel; Co-Chair InnerWest Council, Seniors Policy Working Group; an Advisor - ARIIA Palliative Care Knowledge & Expert Advisory Group; and an Advisory Committee Member of LGBTIQ+Health Silver Rainbow aged care program
Rachael’s previous experience was Associate Director (Aged Care specialist), Management Consultancy for KPMG, a CEO and Founder of Business Strategic Planning Consultancy in aged care and medical devices industry. She joins the Meaningful Ageing Australia team with extensive Brand Product Leadership roles, including a solid foundation in Healthcare Account Management spanning over 25 years.
Based in Naarm (Melbourne), Rachael, a life-long Buddhist practitioner and her passions include learning about indigenous culture, meditation and philosophy, pilgrimages and the power of song. |
