Rebecca Walton Division Committee Student & Early Career Group (SECG) Representative Rebecca is an Occupational Therapist and Clinician Researcher at Brightwater Care Group. She also holds a Bachelor of Communications in Journalism & Public Relations. Rebecca has worked as an occupational therapist in the aged care and the NDIS/community sectors. She is currently completing her Master of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia. Rebecca's work is predominantly in the advance care planning and supported decision-making space. She has worked as a Clinical Trial Coordinator for the EARLI project, aiming to increase rates of advance care planning in older, community dwelling adults through the use of facilitated life story work. Rebecca is currently a Chief Investigator on the BUDDY project, which aims to increase aged care staff knowledge and confidence in supported decision making. At Brightwater Research Centre, Rebecca has worked to determine and implement best-practice outcome measures for use in residential aged care; and contributed to studies exploring the use of nurse practitioners and pharmacists to simplify medication in residential aged care. |
