Shin Liau

Dr Shin Liau is a pharmacist and Research Fellow at the Centre for Medicine Use and Safety (CMUS), Monash University. She brings experience working across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria, informing her research into medication optimisation for older adults living with frailty and dementia. Her work encompasses national and international initiatives, including developing international consensus principles on medication management and leading a four-country study across Australia, Japan, China and Spain to address major evidence gaps in Asia-Pacific residential aged care research. She co-leads the Deprescribing in Guidelines International Consortium, a 52-member collaboration across 18 countries, and has held Visiting Researcher roles at the University of British Columbia and the University of Eastern Finland, contributing expertise in clinical practice guideline methodology and large-scale pharmacoepidemiology. Shin has been actively involved with AAG since 2020, joined the national AAG SECG Professional Development and Events Subcommittee in 2022–2023, commenced as Chair of the AAG Victorian SECG in 2024, and was subsequently appointed to the AAG Victorian Division Executive Committee in 2025.
