Second AAG 'pulse check' poll now open

Our second 'pulse check' poll is now open!

In our first poll, we asked 'How old is too old?'. In this second poll, we have a series of questions about what it means to age well. What's your preferred terminology? What resources do you need to age well? What do you think the Department of Health and Aged Care should be prioritising?

Let us know what you think!

This poll forms part of AAG's work with the Department of Health and Aged Care. It takes about 10 minutes and is anonymous. We'll share the results on the AAG community platform. The poll will close on Friday 17 November.

AAG/ARIIA opportunity for SECG members

AAG is partnering with Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) to deliver the Innovator Training Program (ITP) to AAG Student and Early Career (SECG) members.

This program equips participants with the transferrable skills and knowledge required to design and plan the implementation of evidence-based solutions into practice, and to build a strong career and meaningful collaborations to drive industry-led research.

Participation is open to 10 current SECG members, on application. The program is free for participants and involves around 21 hours in total, over six weeks (up to 3.5 hours a week of self-directed learning and online participation). AAG and ARIIA will select and confirm participants in early January 2024, with the program due to start in March 2024.

Read the information flyer and come along to a drop-in information session from 1.00 to 2.00 pm AEDT on Wednesday 22 November 2023, to discuss your ideas and ask any questions.

Apply by sending the completed application form to [email protected] by 5.00 pm AEDT on Thursday 30 November 2023.

New AAG merchandise

If you're coming to #AAGConf23, make sure you visit the AAG booth, where you can catch up with the National Office team, discuss the year in review and chat about ideas and opportunities.

And (drum roll), for the very first time, we have an exciting new range of AAG merchandise! Items on sale include AAG lapel pins and age-positive badges. This fundraising opportunity, led by AAG's Victoria Division, is a way to strengthen the AAG brand and spread positive messages in the community.

After the conference, these items will be available for purchase through the AAG website.
