AAG SECG Helen Barrie Award open now

AAG's Student and Early Career Group (SECG) is proud to announce that the AAG SECG Helen Barrie National Prize is back in 2023.

This prize provides an opportunity for eligible AAG student and early career members to be recognised for their outstanding research contributions to ageing research and practice.

Now in its third year, three prizes will be awarded, with a total value of $1750.00. This year, a special prize for excellence in research on creative arts for health and wellbeing in ageing is also being offered, alongside the general prize for excellence in ageing research outcomes.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of Comlink Australia for this prize.

Applications are now open and close on 4 December 2023.

Healthy Ageing Toolkit launched

Led by AAG member Dr Saman Khalatbari-Soltani, Senior Lecturer in Population Health at University of Sydney School of Public Health and the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR), the Healthy Ageing Toolkit has recently been launched.

The Healthy Ageing Toolkit is a comprehensive cohort information repository of 287 ageing cohort studies across the globe, designed to support the study of ageing and its trajectories, as well as inequities in healthy ageing. Its search dashboard helps researchers locate cohort studies worldwide with their measures of interest. It also provides valuable insights into data collection gaps, supporting the global, regional, and national monitoring of actions, programs, and policies.

Saman is also a member of the AAG Research Trust Grants Committee.
