#AAGConf24 sponsors - Welcome to Bronze Sponsor COTA Tasmania

Much as we all love coming together to share, learn and have fun, we could run our hugely popular AAG Conferences without sponsors and exhibitors. Thank you all for helping us to make each conference a (splendid) reality.

Today, we formally acknowledge our latest partner for #AAGConf24 in Hobart, COTA Tasmania. Like our conference theme of 'Fresh air, fresh thinking', we share the vision of COTA Tas that 'Ageing in Australia is a time of possibility, opportunity and influence.' For #AAGConf24, we again have a range of sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. Please get in touch if you'd like to partner with us, or share any offers or suggestions.

Linguistic diversity in RAC

This year, Harmony Week runs from 15 to 21 March. At AAG, we celebrate diversity in all its shapes and sizes. Today, we consider linguistic diversity.

With many aged care residents preferring to speak a language other than English, it is essential to understand language diversity when planning and delivering services.

A new article in Australasian Journal on Ageing (AJA) examines linguistic diversity among people living in Australian residential aged care facilities .Findings highlight the importance of understanding the extent of language diversity, location and linguistic isolation, in order to ensure that all residents receive high-quality, individualised care.

AJA is developed in partnership with AAG, the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM), and COTA Australia.

Forum on real world implementation

Did you know that it takes about 17 years for research evidence to be put into practice? And that only one in five interventions makes it to routine clinical care?

On Friday 22 March, our friends at Bolton Clarke will host an online forum on 'Implementation in the real world of aged and community care.'

National and international speakers will discuss implementation of evidence into practice in the aged care sector and present real-world examples of implementation at the frontline, alongside national and international perspectives of research translation.

Bolton Clarke is one of AAG's collaborating research centres (CRCs). Our CRCs are based at universities and institutes across Australia, where they lead discussions on issues related to ageing research, policy and practice.
