SECG Helen Barrie National Prize awardees from the 2023-24 round

In a webinar to be held on Tuesday 26 March 2024, AAG's Student and Early Career Group (SECG) will present the awardees from the 2023-24 round of the Helen Barrie National Prize.

This prize is one of the ways AAG recognises eligible SECG members for their outstanding contributions to ageing research and practice.

This webinar is an opportunity for Dr Diana Matovic (winner) and Dr Asmita Manchha (finalist) to share their respective studies. It will be co-hosted by Dr Helen Barrie and Dr Kate Wang.

The SECG provides a forum for newcomers to gerontology and associated fields to share their professional and personal experiences and achievements in ageing-related work or study. If you are in the early stages of your career, we encourage you to join this active, supportive group.

Please note that access to the post-event recording in our video library will be restricted to AAG members and webinar registrants.

#AAGConf23 proceedings now available

We are pleased to announce that the proceedings from #AAGConf23, held on the Gold Coast in November 2023, are now available on the AAG website.

The huge job of collating the conference program, event summaries and individual abstracts into one resource fell to AAG's Membership, Marketing and Infrastructure Manager Michael Tan, and Marketing and Administration Officer Matt Jones. We could call it a 'labour of love', but that does not capture the complexity of the task.

We encourage you all to look at the breadth and depth of the work presented at our National Conference, and hope to see you in Tasmania for #AAGConf24.

Reminder

Abstracts for #AAG Conf24 are now open!

Reablement forum

On Wednesday 13 March, our friends at KeepAble will be hosting a free webinar on reablement.

Featuring speakers and presenters who are at the forefront of innovation and expertise in wellness and reablement, 'Rethink Reablement' is aimed at in-home aged care providers and other aged care stakeholders.

We're pleased to see that several of the speakers are AAG members.

KeepAble was created by iLA (Independent Living Assessment Inc), a Western Australian not-for-profit organisation with a focus on healthy ageing, individualised assessment, peer navigation, and community sector capacity building initiatives.
