AAG Rural, Regional & Remote Special Interest Group (RRRSIG) Update

The AAG Rural, Regional & Remote Special Interest Group (RRRSIG) has had an active year so far, with two online meetings bringing together a diverse community of academics, practitioners, peak body and advocacy group representatives, and consumers. These sessions have been a valuable space to network, share insights on rural ageing and aged care, hear about and contribute to AAG policy submissions, and plan future events.

Catch Up at the AAG Conference – Mparntwe / Alice Springs

If you're heading to the AAG Conference, we are planning to host an informal RRRSIG catch-up during one of the tea breaks. It’s a great opportunity for us all to connect in person, exchange updates on what we’re working on, and welcome new or potential members. Keep an eye on the conference program for details!

Looking Ahead: RRRSIG Online Symposium – Early 2026

Following the success of our 2024 online event Showcasing innovation in rural ageing and aged care, (program available to download, highlighting the diverse ageing research and evaluation projects across rural, regional and remote settings) we’re excited to announce that we are planning another online symposium for early 2026. The upcoming event will once again showcase research and evaluation projects focused on rural ageing and aged care, providing a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Stay tuned via the AAG channels for more details.
