Conference MasterClass with International experts

Join international experts Professor Martin Knapp and Dr Gloria Wong for this hands-on workshop that dives into one of the biggest challenges in aged care today - how to support people to live well in the community while balancing economic and policy realities.

Friday, 14th November 2025

9:30am to 11:00am

AAG Conference 2025

Mparntwe/Alice Springs

Hosted by London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and using dementia care as a case study, this interactive session is designed for decision-makers, policy influencers, and anyone shaping the future of aged care. Through short, sharp presentations and small group work, you’ll explore what drives policy change, with a focus on economic imperatives.

Professor Knapp is Professor of Health and Social Care Policy at the London School of Economics and a Research Fellow at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC). His research focuses on social care, mental health, dementia, and neurodiversity, using economic analysis to inform policy and practice.

Dr Wong is a psychologist with PhD training in psychiatry. Her research focuses on dementia, psychosis, and mental health prevention across the lifespan. She co-leads JC JoyAge, a large-scale late-life depression prevention programme (>10,000 participants), and collaborative work on virtual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and tech-enabled carer support.
