Thursday Three - 16 January 2025

  • Welcome to 2025!
  • Call for submissions to 'AAG 500' Blog 2025
  • New Look - GEN Aged Care Data website

Welcome to 2025!

In our first AAG Thursday Three for 2025, we start by wishing our members a very happy New Year!

In the coming weeks, we'll be sending out our annual member survey, asking for your feedback regarding how we can improve the member experience, what we could do differently, and how we can help you make the most of your membership. The results of the survey will be shared with AAG members and considered by our Board at its strategic planning session in March.

We also ask that you take a moment to check that your AAG member profile is up to date. This ensures we have the most accurate member information, including up to date contact details and preferred methods of communication.
To check and update your member account:

  • Log in at https://community.aag.asn.au/home
  • Under 'My profile', check and update your personal information. You can even update or add a photo if you wish!
  • Under 'My preferences', select your communication preferences.

If you get stuck at any point, please send an email to [email protected].

AAG's Board and Team wish you success in the coming months and we look forward to connecting with members at future events, including #AAGConf25 in Alice Springs.

Call for submissions to 'AAG 500' Blog 2025

A big thank you to all members who made submissions to the 'AAG 500' blog in 2024.

We enjoyed reading about your current research, learning about a particular area of interest and being informed regarding issues or concerns as an ageing and aged care researcher or practitioner.

With the new year ahead, we invite AAG members to send in your suggestions for future monthly blog topics and/or submit a 500 word blog for publication on the AAG website.

Participating in AAG's 500 Blog series is a great way to practice concise writing, promote your research, share professional experience and career highlights. You may also like to get the conversation going regarding a new idea, insight or discovery!

Forward your topic ideas or draft blogs to [email protected]. We request that all blog submissions are kept to as close to 500 words as possible. AAG reserves the right to edit submissions prior to publication.

New Look - GEN Aged Care Data website

GEN Aged Care Data (#AAGConf24 Bronze sponsor) has a new look!

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) established the GEN website in 2017 as a one-stop shop for aged care data and "front door" to the AIHW National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse.

Changes to the GEN website include:

  • Improved responsive design for viewing on mobiles and tablets.
  • Modernised homepage showcasing featured releases, topics and resources.
  • New layout and navigation for topic pages and web reports.
  • Updated organisation of data, publications, dashboards and factsheets.

AIHW will continue to roll out enhancements aimed at improving the functionality and accessibility of the GEN website. For more information visit www.gen-agedcaredata.gov.au or email [email protected].
