AAG Qld Division & a leadership update: A Warm Welcome to Co-Chair Dr Asmita Manchha

As mentioned in the last Thursday Three, we celebrated some fantastic changes to the Qld Division, thanking outgoing chair Lachie Green and welcoming Dr Theresa Scott as the new Queensland Division Chair.

However, the good news doesn’t stop there, since the announcement of a new chair, Dr Asmita Manchha, who has been serving diligently as the Queensland Division Secretary, has graciously stepped up to become the Division Co-Chair alongside Theresa. We can’t wait to see the amazing things they will accomplish together!

We also once again want to take this opportunity to acknowledge all our past Division chairs for their valued contributions to AAG. Your efforts and dedication have been instrumental in our success.

AAG Blog & Community Hubs: an immeasurable social investment of staying connected in community

We’re thrilled to share a captivating array of topics through the AAG 500 blog.

This month, we spotlight Dr Chiara Naseri, a 2022 AAG Research Trust Hal Kendig Development grant recipient. Her blog focuses on Community Hubs, a significant social investment for community connectivity, particularly for older people.

These hubs foster member reciprocity and extend healthy ageing activities based on their needs. A notable example is the Staying in Place program, which links older members with local contractors for home support services, thereby sustaining urban and rural community populations.

You can read more of Dr Naseri’s blog that highlights the invaluable social investment of community hubs in promoting healthy ageing and community sustainability.
