ATSIAAG hosting an online workshop.
Cultural Awareness & Cultural Safety:
An Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Perspective

 

 

The workshop will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Monday 14th November - ONLINE.

Acting chair of the AAG ATSIAAG (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Ageing Advisory Group) Mark Elliott, will be conducting a special pre-conference workshop (PCW) on Cultural Awareness & Cultural Safety: An Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Perspective.

The workshop will highlight the importance of cultural safety to be an important element of engaging with older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, taking into account individual’s unique experience and cultural context.

Flooding and other emergencies for people with Dementia

With many parts of Australia experiencing excessive flooding and abnormally large amounts of rain the past few weeks, AAG member Dr Sabrina Pitt and AAG nominee as the technical expert to the Standards Australia technical committee MB-027 Ageing Societies ageing has written a timely article about this stressful situation.

AAG Annual General Meeting  

As already circulated to members, the AAG Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be:

Wednesday 16th November 2022
12:30pm to 1:15pm (AEDT)
Which will be run digitally by Zoom

Members have already been emailed a notice and draft agenda.  A proxy form has also been made available for anyone unable to attend. A final agenda and combined papers will be emailed to members soon – keep an eye out for the email!
