Dementia Action Week 2020:
Sarah Cope Dementia

Article date: 21 Sep 2020

AAG are proud to present this special presentation on Dementia and Dementia Care by Dr Sarah Cope. Sarah was an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Canberra and previous secretary of the ACT AAG Division in 2016-17. Sadly in 2018, she passed away at the age of 44 after experiencing with the illness for just over two years. Sarah was well known for her energy and passion for aged care nursing by all she taught and interacted with.
This lecture was provided as an introduction into Dementia and Dementia Care for undergraduate nursing students. It is a small testament to her enthusiasm and skills in the topic. As a sit down online lecture it doesn’t show her singing and dancing which were sometimes a feature of her lectures, to the surprise and delight of many students.

Thank you to Sarah’s husband Ian for allowing AAG to present her lecture during Dementia Action Week 2020.
