Since 1964, AAG has been Australia’s peak body for advancing research, education, policy and practice related to ageing and older age. In 2012, constitutional amendments enabled the AAG to change from an incorporated association to a company limited by guarantee. As a registered not-for-profit organisation, AAG does not operate for financial benefit.
The AAG Research Trust is the research grant arm of AAG. It is a wholly independent charitable organisation structured as a public ancillary fund with deductible gift recipient (DGR) Two status and is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission (ACNC). As the corporate trustee of the Trust, the AAG Board has separate regulatory responsibilities to the Trust.
