Opportunities to contribute

  • The Queensland Accessible Transport Advisory Council (QATAC) will provide independent and strategic advice to the Minister for Transport and Main Roads, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and Queensland Rail (QR). This advice will involve strategic policy and technical accessibility advice on significant products, services, information and infrastructure projects across the Queensland Government transport portfolio, to deliver an integrated transport network accessible to everyone. They're looking for subject matter experts who are also representatives of marginalised community groups and/or people with lived experience. Closing date 16-Nov-2020 https://smartjobs.qld.gov.au/jobs/QRON-353511
  • The recent Parliamentary inquiry by the Communities, Disability Services and Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Committee determined that the majority of the Queensland community, including health practitioners, is supportive of the introduction of voluntary assisted dying legislation in Queensland. The Queensland Law Reform Commission has been asked by the Government to develop an appropriate legislative scheme for voluntary assisted dying in Queensland. The Commission has released a Consultation Paper (WP No 79) outlining key issues and inviting written submissions in response to a series of questions detailed in the paper. You can make a submission following the guidelines in the Consultation Paper.
