A/Prof Jo Antoniades

Jo is an Associate Professor of Health Communication in Society at La Trobe University, with an academic background that bridges public health, psychology, and primary care. Her research centres on cultural diversity, dementia, mental health, and community engagement. Since completing her PhD in 2017, she has contributed to several national and international studies focusing on dementia awareness and care within multicultural communities. Currently, Jo leads projects funded by the MRFF and the Department of Health and Aged Care, working alongside multicultural Australian communities, and other community-based stakeholders to develop community-driven dementia risk reduction education initiatives, such as the MindCare program (MRFF funded) and MindCare4Women (DoHA funded). Additionally, Jo holds an NHMRC EL1 fellowship, focusing on the co-design of a navigation and decision-making tool for aged care tailored to South Asian seniors.
