AJA recruiting for New Editor-in-Chief

 

Applications are invited for appointment as Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Journal on Ageing (AJA). This position will play a significant role in academic leadership on ageing issues in Australia and New Zealand, the region, and internationally.

The Australasian Journal on Ageing (AJA) is a multi-disciplinary peer reviewed journal and one of the region’s premier journals on ageing, gerontological and geriatric research. The journal provides current evidence on priority issues in ageing related to Australia and New Zealand, and globally. The AJA publishes original work in any area of gerontology and geriatric medicine, focusing on relevance for policy and practice to inform readers from a wide range of disciplines and professions.

The AJA is currently published quarterly under a contractual arrangement between the Australasian Journal on Ageing Inc (the Association) and Wiley (the Publisher).

The Journal was listed in the Thomson Scientific ISI Database in 2006 and has been Medline listed since 2008. It received its first impact factor in 2009; the current impact factor is 1.876. It has a Scopus Q1 rating.

The Editor-in-Chief works closely with the Deputy Editors in Chief, and Associate Editors who comprise a strong, established and high functioning Editorial Team to ensure that the Journal meets internationally accepted scholarly and ethical standards and high standards of English presentation.

The Editor in Chief is responsible to the Management Committee of the AJA for the strategic directions and editorial content of the Journal and leads the Editorial Team and an international Editorial Board.
